What is a wall reader/terminal?

A wall reader refers to a device used for access control systems. It's usually installed on the wall near a door or entrance and is used to read credentials such as keycards, RFID tags, or biometric data to grant or deny access to a secured area. The wall reader communicates with a central access control system to verify the credentials and determine whether access should be granted.

Where can a wall reader/terminal be used?

A wall reader can be used in various environments where access control is necessary. Some common places where wall readers are utilised include hospitals, hotels, universities, schools, health and fitness centres and offices.

What is the difference between the reader types?

Compact - Controller and transponder reading function in one housing
HiSec - Controller and transponder reading function in one housing plus reading unit in a separate housing with up to three readers
Terminal - Controller and transponder reading function in one housing with authorisation period extension
