What is the difference between ENiQ and Tapkey?
The DOM range includes two main types of digital cylinder, they are both identical in appearance, what changes however is the type of software which powers them. The Two types are DOM ENiQ and DOM Tapkey. DOM ENiQ Cylinders are made to function as part of the DOM ENiQ Ecosystem (Our name for our in house access control system), which includes handlesets, cylinders, wall readers and more and are powered in the background using DOM software and/or the DOM ENiQ App. DOM Tapkey so named as it utalises a third party app and/or software called Tapkey, a company which became part of the DOM group in 2023. Tapkey is a free to download app which is incredibly user friendly and allows a user to manage their access control system from their phone, this includes sending access rights which the user can then use on their phone to access the door.
What are Smartlock Digital Cylinders?
Designed for doors where a wired access control system is inconvenient or impossible, smart cylinders replace a Euro mechanical cylinder allowing a user to user a card, fob or phone to unlock the door rather than a traditional key.

Whats Happens if the Battery Dies?
As the battery is dying, the LED's in the reader of the unit change colour, giving you plenty of time to change the batteries. If these lights are ignored, with 5 operations to go the unit shuts down, requiring a master card to gain entry, this ensures that a user can never be locked out.
