What is the difference between ENiQ and Tapkey?

The DOM range includes two main types of Digital Smart Handle, they are both identical in appearance, what changes however is the type of software which operates them. The two types are DOM ENiQ and DOM Tapkey. DOM ENiQ Digital Smart Handles are made to function as part of the DOM ENiQ Ecosystem (The name for our in house access control system), which includes handlesets, cylinders, wall readers and more and are powered in the background using DOM software and/or the DOM ENiQ App. DOM Tapkey so named as it utalises a third party app and/or software called Tapkey, a company which became part of the DOM group in 2023. Tapkey is a free to download app which is incredibly user friendly and allows a user to manage their access control system from their phone, this includes sending access rights which the user can then use on their phone to access the door.

A digital smart door handle is a door handle equipped with smart technology, adding electronic or digital features to the traditional mechanical function of a door handle. These handles often incorporate various technologies to enhance security, convenience, and control.

A Digital Smart Handle is a type of electro-mechanical door lock which is designed to perform locking and unlocking operations on a door when it receives such instructions from an authorized device using a wireless protocol and a cryptographic key to execute the authorization process.

Where can Digital Smart Handles be used?

Digital Smart Handles can be used in a huge range of applications. Most common applications include shared office spaces, universities, hospitals, hotels, airports and many more.

Can Digital Smart Handles be used externally?

The DOM Guard S Digital Smart Handle is IP66 Rated, meaning it can be used on an external entry.

Whats Happens if the Battery Dies?

As the battery is dying, the LED's in the reader of the Digital Smart Handle change colour, giving you plenty of time to change the batteries. If these lights are ignored, with 5 operations to go the unit shuts down, requiring a master card to gain entry, this ensures that a user can never be locked out.
