At DOM, we adhere to the conventional industry method for measuring security cylinder locks to ensure accuracy and reliability. However, it’s essential to recognise that measurement practices can vary across the security industry. To avoid any confusion, please clearly specify the measurement method you are using when ordering a security cylinder lock from us.
Conventional Industry Method
Measure the exterior of the door thickness first (Dimension A) followed by the interior (Dimension B).
This is the same with both double cylinders and key and turn cylinders (The turn is always on the inside).
To measure a cylinder, measure from the very edge to the centre point of the screw hole.
With a single cylinder again measure from the leading edge to the centre point of the screw hole (Dimension A) but the internal side (Dimension B) will always be 10mm.
