DOM Nederland celebrates its 30th anniversary. Product knowledge and customer relations are important assets of the company. And you build them up with experience. But it's not just old people who work in The Hague. It's the mix of young and old that makes it fun. So says Joey, the cheerful warehouse worker.
Joey from the warehouse is one of the younger colleagues at DOM Netherlands. Joey (25) works in the warehouse and prepares all orders for his colleagues in production from there. "You can tell that my colleagues have a lot of experience and know everything about DOM products. When Joey started working for DOM in January, he had to cope with a lot of information, but now he knows his way around his warehouse, which has six aisles full of DOM products and parts, quickly and blindly.
Fast and complete
"I easily walk 15,000 steps every day, just for work", he says cheerfully. "Keeps me slim. We can get a sandwich again during the break." The warehouse man clearly enjoys grabbing the incoming orders from the printer as quickly as possible and collecting all the parts and products for his colleagues in production. "Some orders are smaller, but sometimes you have orders of four pages," he says. "Then it takes some time to ensure that everything is complete as quickly as possible. Often there is a rush, but in any case we make sure that everything is complete quickly."
Nice and helpful
Speaking of speed: When Joey saw the DOM vacancy on Indeed one Saturday in January, he applied the same day. "What do you think? I could come in for an interview on Monday and start the same day. And now I am very happy with my job and with my colleagues. Everyone helps each other here and we have a nice team. Young people, older people, all mixed up together. It's a bit different from working at Hoogvliet, where I mainly worked with 14 and 16 year olds. But now he has to move on quickly, because there are still a few orders he has to prepare for the weekend. "Chill out tomorrow. On the couch. Watch a series."
