Excellence Backed by Trusted Security Standards

Security standards play a key role in managing risks and setting the foundation for best practices across industries.
With a presence in over 20 countries across Europe, DOM Security ensures all its products meet both national and European norms, fully aligning with the EU’s directives for locking solutions. This commitment reflects our dedication to quality, safety, and reliability in every product we offer.

Each of our certifications underscores a commitment to safety, quality, and performance across our product range

CE

The CE (Conformité Européenne) marking signifies that a product complies with the European Union's safety, health, and environmental protection requirements. It is mandatory for products sold within the European Economic Area (EEA) and indicates conformity with relevant EU directives and regulations.

EU

EU standards are harmonized technical specifications established to ensure the safety, reliability, and environmental performance of products across member states. These standards facilitate trade, enhance product quality, and ensure consumer safety within the single market.

NF

The NF (Norme Française) mark is a French standard that verifies a product's compliance with applicable standards and quality requirements. It is a voluntary certification that assures consumers of a product's safety, reliability, and performance.

UL

UL (Underwriters Laboratories) certification is a globally recognized safety standard primarily used in North America. It indicates that a product has been tested and meets specific safety standards, particularly for electrical and fire hazards.

UKCA

The UKCA (UK Conformity Assessed) marking is the UK's product marking requirement that replaced the CE marking after Brexit. It applies to most goods placed on the market in Great Britain and indicates conformity with UK safety, health, and environmental regulations.

In order to claim a CE declaration of conformity, companies have to undergo a strict assessment procedure, covering both the design phase and the manufacturing phase of their products. Moreover, 8 different assessment methods can be applied, including internal production control, product verification and verification per unit, product quality assurance and full quality assurance.

CE marking is a guarantee of very high European safety standards, which is a pledge of reliability for DOM Security's customers. Our companies offer robust, CE-compliant products to ensure the safety and protection of people, even under extreme conditions. These include Picard Serrures fire doors for apartments, panic devices for emergency exits under the DOM brand, and the range of DOM ix mechanical cylinders with CE fire resistance certification.

EU standards, known as European Norms (EN), are technical specifications developed by the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) and the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization (CENELEC). These standards ensure that products meet consistent safety, quality, and performance criteria across Europe, facilitating trade and enhancing consumer protection.

DOM Security complies fully with EU standards, ensuring that all our locking products adhere to the strict technical and safety requirements established for the European market. This commitment guarantees the quality and reliability of our solutions, meeting the highest industry benchmarks. These include Picard Serrures fire doors for apartments, panic devices for emergency exits under the DOM brand, and the range of DOM ix mechanical cylinders with CE fire resistance certification.

NF is one of the leading certification labels in Europe, known by 9 out of 10 people in France. Issued by an independent and impartial organisation (AFNOR), it ensures that the quality, safety, reliability and suitability for use requirements described in the certification standards and regulations have been checked and are respected. AFNOR verifies the conformity of products to be certified and carries out regular checks on the product and on the efficiency of the company's quality system.

The NF certification's added value is that it is not a mandatory standard, but a voluntary quality certification label with a clear differentiation objective.  It shows the commitment of a manufacturer such as DOM Security to offer an additional guarantee of product quality and safety, which goes further than simply complying with the national and European norms in force.  In addition, the NF label is issued for a period of 3 years, and therefore requires regular checks by AFNOR in order to renew the certification, which guarantees a consistently high level of product quality.

UL (Underwriters Laboratory) is an American-based certification board that provides expertise, insights, and services for international businesses. Their line of certification, simply called the UL marking, is the single most accepted Certification Mark in the United States.

There is a relevant UL certification for every business. In our line of products, we are proud to mention that our panic devices (cross bar and touch bar) have earned the UL 305 certificate.

UKCA (United Kingdom Conformity Assessed) marking is a certification mark that is applied to products being sold in the United Kingdom. When a product has this marking, it means that the product has passed its tests and is ready to be sold in the United Kingdom. The UKCA marking has become mandatory certification following the end of the EU exit transition period.

Since 2023, DOM products are stamped with UKCA marking too. This change affects all products, especially locks for fire protection, panic/emergency locks, and door closers.
