For wired and wireless networks, communication protocols are crucial for defining the rules for the transfer of data between devices in the Open Systems Interconnection model (OSI). In other words, the communication protocol connects an object (device) to a wired or wireless network. Moreover, if this network includes a gateway (a device connected to both the network and the internet), then this device can transmit and receive data directly from the internet.

To provide our customers with the highest level of security, companies within the DOM Security Group have developed a range of electronic locking solutions. Each of these must employ a complex encryption protocol as a minimum requirement for high security.

For example, our Unitecnic range of electronic products is slightly different from the DOM range, making them an ideal complement to the DOM ENiQ® security ecosystem. Unitecnic products are based on LoRa technology, a long-range radio communication protocol that offers the widest radio coverage in the wireless access control market. This solution complements DOM digital locking products where cabling is not possible due to cost or distance, such as in hospitals.

For the DOM ENiQ® electronic range, our dedicated software's online programming function is able to centrally organize an entire system, by connecting to all ENiQ® devices through a TCP/IP network. Building owners and facility managers can then program every specific ENiQ® device remotely, while simultaneously receiving information updates from them. This provides an organisation with full, real-time control over all access points within their facility.

With a variety of digital locking equipment operating on communication technologies such as NFC (Near Field Communication), BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) and RFID (Radio Frequency Identification), ENiQ® is a state of the art security ecosystem able to manage complex environments.
