Communication Protocol

For wired and wireless networks, communication protocols are crucial for defining the rules for the transfer of data between devices in the Open Systems Interconnection model (OSI). In other words, the communication protocol connects an object (device) to a wired or wireless network. Moreover, if this network includes a gateway (a device connected to both the network and the internet), then this device can transmit and receive data directly from the internet.

Different communication protocols catering to different needs

From wireless radio communication...

To provide our customers with the highest level of security, companies within the DOM Security Group have developed a range of electronic locking solutions. Each of these must employ a complex encryption protocol as a minimum requirement for high security.

For example, our Unitecnic range of electronic products is slightly different from the DOM range, making them an ideal complement to the DOM ENiQ® security ecosystem. Unitecnic products are based on LoRa technology, a long-range radio communication protocol that offers the widest radio coverage in the wireless access control market. This solution complements DOM digital locking products where cabling is not possible due to cost or distance, such as in hospitals.

...To the power of ENiQ® communication technologies

For the DOM ENiQ® electronic range, our dedicated software's online programming function is able to centrally organize an entire system, by connecting to all ENiQ® devices through a TCP/IP network. Building owners and facility managers can then program every specific ENiQ® device remotely, while simultaneously receiving information updates from them. This provides an organisation with full, real-time control over all access points within their facility.

With a variety of digital locking equipment operating on communication technologies such as NFC (Near Field Communication), BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) and RFID (Radio Frequency Identification), ENiQ® is a state of the art security ecosystem able to manage complex environments.

The ability to safeguard highly sensitive environments

Another example of DOM's capacity to meet the need for high security is the safety solution from our company Omnitech.

As an expert in security engineering, Omnitech enables organisations to implement an architectural model, with dedicated communication protocols, to ensure end-to-end security in sensitive and/or complex sites and environments, such as international airports.

Omnitech’s unique “hypervision” tool called the Seal System is specifically designed for the administration, operation and maintenance of all software, devices and sensors contributing to the security of sites and the safety of people.

DOM’s commitment to enhance communication protocol technologies

Standards are vital for improving technology from an end-user perspective. We believe that by focusing on our digital locking technology and providing open but highly effective security solutions, end-users benefit greatly.

That is why we are pleased to announce that our Data on Card programming method has passed the standardisation test by OSS. OSS (Open Security Standard) is an international organisation that sets the highest standard of protocols and components within the access control market. Rather than just following the norms, DOM Security is actively participating in defining standards in the European market, today and for the future.

We strongly believe that everyone deserves to feel secure without compromise, therefore we developed DOMConnect as a way to achieve this objective.
