Despite increased production across its European sites, DOM Security has significantly reduced its environmental impact in 2024, reflecting the Group’s strategic commitment to sustainable transformation.
In a year marked by industrial growth, DOM Security achieved an 8% reduction in its overall carbon footprint. Electricity consumption also fell by 8%, and the Group’s waste recycling rate rose to 76%. These improvements are the result of practical, long-term investments, notably the installation of solar panels across multiple sites, which increased our use of renewable energy by 33% compared to 2023.
This progress is encouraging. It shows that growth and sustainability can go hand in hand. But we’re not claiming victory just yet. The largest share of our emissions still comes from the materials and services we purchase, especially metals such as steel. It’s an area where we know we need to do more. That’s why we’re actively pursuing eco-design strategies and responsible sourcing initiatives to reduce the environmental impact of our supply chain.
Energy use remains a central focus. In 2024, DOM Security consumed 22.7 GWh of energy. Electricity accounted for 68% of that usage but only 44% of related emissions which is a sign that our shift toward cleaner energy sources is paying off.
These efforts form part of a wider transformation happening across the Group. Guided by the Strategic Compass (a framework developed by the Sfpi Group), we are aligning our decisions with long-term values like environmental responsibility, customer satisfaction, and employee well-being. The Compass is therefore more than just a planning tool: it is a shared reference point that helps teams across the Group to make better, more sustainable choices every day.
As noted in the Transformation Plan report featured in The Best of DOM V6:
“By combining practical solutions with long-term thinking, DOM Security is building a more resilient and responsible industrial model, and one where sustainability is part of daily routines.”
With enthusiastic feedback from teams on the ground and measurable progress across key indicators, we’re proud of the progress we’ve made, and remain focused on the work ahead. Environmental responsibility and business excellence don’t have to be mutually exclusive. Through diligent effort, they reinforce each other and strengthen our mission.
